Nick Shirley Takes You Inside the Oval Office

Nick Shirley speaking inside the Oval Office alongside President Trump on Tuesday (White House)
On Tuesday, President Trump welcomed Nick Shirley into the Oval Office. Nick walked out with a $10,000 award and a Quality Learing Center hoodie signed by Trump. In his latest video, Nick shares the entire day, even what happened before the press conference. Check it out below.
In May 2023, Nick was living in South America and described himself as “pretty much a nobody.” After reading a book by motivational author Og Mandino, he made a list of promises to himself. Later, back at his hotel, he read the list on camera and admitted it made him emotional. While standing next to the president, one line kept repeating in his mind: “I will reign with the top yet carry myself with humbleness.” For those online who call him a fed or a plant, Nick put it simply: “I’m just a kid from Utah who never gave up.”
Now, that “kid” travels with a security guard named Alex. Nick says he needs protection because people want him dead for exposing fraud. Mary Margaret Olohan from The Daily Wire asked Trump what would happen to Nick if a Democrat became president again. Trump replied that he would use his pardon power to protect people like Nick “very openly, very gladly.”
In California, efforts to stop Nick have already led to a bill. Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 2624, also called the Stop Nick Shirley Act, in August. Starting in October 2027, the law will limit publishing personal information about people working in immigration support services. While in the Oval Office, Nick said the law could let one of those workers give him a paper telling him not to publish a video. “California, they actually need the fraud,” he said. Later that day, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying Nick turned California in “and they went after him.”
Nick says you can’t wear a hoodie inside the White House, but he still brought a Quality Learing Center hoodie for the president. After the press conference, Trump held up the hoodie and asked Nick, “So, that was the beginning, right?” Trump signed another hoodie for Nick to keep, then made a TikTok with him and asked who was No. 1 on TikTok. Nick guessed Trump, and Trump agreed. When asked for a message to fraudsters, Trump said, “You’re in big trouble, and we’re after you.” “Boom,” Nick said. “Man said it himself.”

How to Get Paid for Reporting Fraud

President Trump announces the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program with Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday (White House)
President Trump introduced a $25 million program on Tuesday that rewards Americans for reporting fraud, saying there is no cap on the payout. Standing with Nick Shirley in the Oval Office, Trump announced the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program. He explained that anyone who helps uncover fraud against taxpayers will receive a 1% commission. “It’s a lot of money,” Trump added.
The White House shared highlights of the announcement on Thursday, saying the era of Quality Learing Centers is over. Nick said, “But now, finally, people have an incentive to go out and expose fraud.”
Trump talked through the numbers, mentioning fraud amounts from $1 billion up to $400 billion. He said he thought about offering 4% or 5% but decided 1% was enough. “People will make millions of dollars by turning others in,” he said. When asked if there was a cap, Trump said there was not.
Trump said journalists who report someone are also eligible for the 1%, though some might need approval from their newspaper. He joked that others might just quit. “I’m not going to be a reporter any longer. This is too easy,” Trump said. Nick, an independent journalist, received the first reward under the program: $10,000, which the White House linked to charges following his Minnesota video.
Trump also said he would act as the referee, personally deciding who deserves a reward and settling disputes between tipsters over the same case through binding arbitration. He promised quick payments. “I will be very generous, believe me,” he said, then asked the room, “Does everybody trust me to do it?”
The Justice Department manages the program through its new National Fraud Enforcement Division, with the Treasury providing the $25 million. According to DOJ rules, tips that lead to criminal charges earn between $10,000 and $30,000. The department says the new Fraud Whistleblower Program is the first whistleblower program to pay up front. The DOJ will focus on fraud in hospice, home health care, daycare, and special services, which matches topics often covered on Nick’s YouTube channel.
Nick says the program is “essentially creating an army of anti-fraudsters.” He believes insiders who know about schemes at their own office or clinic are most likely to benefit. In a TikTok filmed with Trump after the press conference, he summed it up: “It’s time to take money from the pirates to the patriots.”

Trump Says Ilhan Omar “Could Go to Jail”

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., is under federal investigation over her immigration paperwork
Nick Shirley was in the Oval Office on Tuesday when a member of the press asked President Trump if questions about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s age could lead to her deportation. Trump replied, “Well, she could be. She could also go to jail.” He said this was his opinion, called Omar dishonest and a disgrace to the country, and added that he hopes she’s treated fairly.
The immigration case focuses on Omar’s age. She became a citizen in 2000 through her father’s naturalization, which only applies to children under 18. Investigators searched her Washington home on Oct. 12. They are reportedly checking if Omar or her late father listed the wrong birth year on immigration forms. If she was already 18 at the time, she would not have qualified.
Border czar Tom Homan told Fox News on Saturday that people who lie during naturalization can lose their citizenship. He said this could happen to Omar, depending on the evidence. “I’ve been told they have a strong case,” Homan said.
Omar had kept a low profile since the search. She gave her first interview on Wednesday, telling MS NOW, formerly MSNBC, that she is moving out of the house agents searched because she no longer feels safe there. She has also asked supporters for donations to help fight the case. On Friday, her lawyers sent prosecutors a letter demanding her seized property be returned and calling the investigation politically motivated, according to the Associated Press. Barack Obama commented on Sunday, calling the age question an “unsubstantiated theory.”
Omar has not been charged with a crime. To revoke her citizenship, the government would need to prove in federal court that she was ineligible or lied to obtain it. She is on the ballot for Nov. 3 in Minnesota’s 5th District, which includes the Minneapolis daycares Nick filmed last year.
